These terms apply to anyone using the Rockland Window Replacement website to read about windows and doors or to send an estimate request. Window or door work we take on runs under its own signed contract, and nothing here changes that contract.

The prices on this site are averages for planning, not quotes, and an estimate request is free and binds no one. Maine law puts home construction work over $3,000 on a written contract both sides sign and holds the first payment to one third of the price.

Effective October 27, 2026. Last updated October 27, 2026.

By using this website, you accept the terms on this page. A window or door job we carry out for you is governed by a separate signed contract, and nothing on this page alters it.

The Business Behind This Site

Rockland Window Replacement is a window and door replacement company with its office in Rockland, Maine, serving Rockland and the Midcoast towns nearby. Throughout these terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Rockland Window Replacement, and "you" refers to whoever is using the site.

Age to Use the Site

This website is meant for adults 18 and over, and using it is your statement that you meet that age.

Using the Site Fairly

The site is here for reading about windows and doors and for telling us about your house and the job you have in mind. Give us accurate details along with contact information that is yours, and leave the site's workings alone: no attempts to break it, flood it or misuse it.

Prices You See Here

Each window and door price on our pages is an average taken from a large number of quotes, posted to help you test a budget. No figure here is an offer, a bid or a price quoted for your house.

Your own job's cost turns on what each opening shows us: insert or full-frame, the frame material, size and style, hidden rot and the inside trim. Bay and bow windows have no published price whatsoever, since we price them only after seeing the wall and the old unit.

Estimate Requests

A request for an estimate is free and leaves both of us uncommitted. Only a contract signed by both of us turns an estimate into an agreement.

We can say no to a request, such as one from outside the towns we cover or for work we do not do: roofs, siding, gutters, decks, kitchens, baths, additions, single-pane glass repair or storm windows on their own.

Contracts and Deposits Under Maine Law

10 MRSA ยง1487 requires any home construction contract above $3,000 in materials or labor to be written down, with your signature and ours. You and we each get a copy before the work starts, and the first payment may not exceed one third of the full contract price.

That signed contract, not this site, sets the scope, materials, price and payment schedule for your windows or doors. Changes to the contract price happen only through a written change order, and that is the route by which rot discovered beneath an old sill joins a job.

No Warranty Is Given Here

This website offers no warranty and no guarantee of any sort. Warranty terms for your windows or doors come solely from your signed contract and from the maker's own published warranty.

Brand Names

Brand names mentioned on our pages, including Andersen, Marvin, Pella, Harvey, Simonton, ProVia and Therma-Tru, are trademarks of their respective owners. We are an independent installer: no maker is affiliated with us, and no maker has endorsed or authorized our work.

Licensing in Maine

Maine has no licensing program for general contractors, so there is no state license we could show you. For any job above $3,000, the state's safeguard is the written, two-signature contract described above.

Permits and Local Review

Every town makes its own decision on whether window or door work needs a building permit and whether that permit is granted. In Rockland, changing the design, look or opening size of a window or door at a Main Street address between 279 and 500 also means a review by the Historic Preservation Commission, which advises the owner and must see the plan before any permit is issued there.

A house near the water may fall within a town's shoreland zone, governed by its own rules under Maine's shoreland zoning program. We handle the filing wherever a permit applies, yet the approval is the town's to give, so we never promise one.

Dates and Schedules

The contract Maine's law calls for names an estimated starting date and an estimated date for substantial completion. That same law allows those dates to shift for causes the contractor cannot control, such as a house not ready for the work or windows that cannot be obtained.

A slow custom order, a run of bad weather or rot behind an old frame can push a window schedule as well. Nothing on this site binds us to a start or finish date for your job.

Information Only, Not Advice

Our pages on window materials, flashing, sill pans, safety glass, lead paint, town rules and prices are offered as general information. They are not engineering or legal advice, and no web page can replace an in-person look at your actual windows and doors.

Questions of code at a specific house go to that town's code officer, whose answer is final.

Text Message Terms

These terms take effect once you opt in to our texts on one of our forms.

  • Subject of our texts: your estimate request, and once you are a customer, the window or door work under way.
  • What it may cost: message and data rates may apply, and the number of texts depends on the project.
  • Opting out and help: reply STOP and our messages end, or HELP for help; one reply confirms the STOP.

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. That consent is never a condition of any purchase from us, so you can buy without giving it.

Our Privacy Policy explains how your number and consent are handled.

Our Content

Copyright may protect the text and photographs on this website. Ask us first if you want to use any of them somewhere else.

Our pages link out to town code offices, the Maine Legislature's statute pages, the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Park Service. Those sites are beyond our control, and each answers for its own content.

Limits on Our Liability

As far as Maine law permits, Rockland Window Replacement is not responsible for damages that are indirect, incidental or consequential and that come from using this site or relying on what it says in general terms. Work we do under a signed contract answers to that contract, not to this limit.

Revisions to These Terms

We can change these terms whenever we need to, and whatever version appears here is the one that applies. Once a revision is posted, your continued use of the site is your acceptance of it.

Which Law Applies

Maine law governs these terms. Any dispute over this website is to be heard by a Maine state court or a federal court sitting in Maine.
